IDEATION
Inject some character into what was an uninspiring cloakroom. A short brief but with so much potential. How far to push, how brave can we be? In the end, quite brave.
DESIGN
Cloakrooms can be rule breakers. They are spaces you don’t spend too long in, so might not require the calming spa-like scheme of a bathroom. You can be bolder, braver and certainly more colourful. We wanted a centrepiece for this small space, a talking point, and the tall Blush concrete sink delivers that in spades.
Where VR can be useful is looking around a small space. When you try to render a view, you have to apply almost a fisheye lens to get more of the room in the image. With VR there is no warping of the image, you see it as it is in reality.
INSTALLATION
The fluted and plain finish of the upper tiles in Fern, with the Pumice Off White terrazzo effect tile below, these contrasting colours and textures become best friends without taking the limelight from the statement sink. We even added matching shelves above the toilet.
