IDEATION
This was one of four bathrooms for this client, and they wanted each to be very different, but this more than the others as the master ensuite, so they wanted a bolder, more colourful approach, with a large shower and more storage.
IDEATION
Pink was suggested for this room, so pink was very much embraced. With so many decorative tiles available from Ca’ Pietra we were spoilt for choice. For the floor tiles, we went with Cabana New Orleans, which pays homage to the vivid patterned tiles found in traditional Caribbean buildings. We then complemented this on the shower wall with Gelato Cotton Candy, a delicious scallop-shaped tile.
The walk-in shower was raised on a plinth, which gave the space some grandeur, and with a 1.4m four-drawer vanity unit, the 'add more storage box' was very much ticked. With only a small window for light, we fitted a bespoke oversized mirror above the sink to reflect all available light to all corners of the room.
There is a lot to take in with this design, and it was useful for the client to take their time and view it from all angles. They could walk around the VR environment and open the drawers, and we could watch the client in real-time discover that there was plenty of storage and oodles of space in the shower.
INSTALLATION
When designing a space with a bold character, unless you want a maximalist style, it is important to only pick one or two features, and then compliment them quietly with other finishes and colours. This bathroom worked as well as we hoped, fun, bright and a joy to use.
