IDEATION
To create a bedroom space that instantly instils a feeling of peace and relaxation. A place to retire to in the evening and provides a calm, restorative space with plenty of storage without filling the room.
DESIGN
We wanted to embrace the Japandi style. As its name implies, Japandi blends elements of Japanese and Scandinavian design aesthetics. Drawing inspiration from the ancient Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, which embraces simplicity and a slower pace of life, as well as the Scandinavian concept of hygge, which focuses on creating comfort, cosiness, and wellbeing.
So detailed was the VR for this project that the client spent over an hour scrutinising all the details. He liked the design so much that the final result is almost a perfect mirror of the design, even down to sourcing the same rug.
INSTALLATION
By playing with different materials, textures and lights we designed a space that works well morning, day and night. A mix of wood, linen and stone created a natural, relaxing background, with the layering of lights creating the mood.
